China, a nation with a 5,000-year history and a profound traditional culture and abundant ethnical culture, represents the oriental culture that is unlike any other in the world.
Culture’s integration with the economy is becoming more and more obvious nowadays. The cultural industries, as the fastest developing industry in the world, have become an important force in raising the competitiveness of a country or region.
In 2006, China’s cultural industries makes great progress. Cultural enterprises have put forward strategies to promote culture to boost the development of the provinces, cities and enterprises. They are using their advantages in cultural resources fully to deal with the grand open cultural market in the background of economic globalization. From “Processed in China” to “Made in China” and from “Designed in China” to “Created in China,” the concept of cultural industries has been deeply rooted among the Chinese people, and the industries is increasingly being integrated into the market economy.
Hosted by Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China ,State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, General Administration of Press and al Publication of the People’s Republic of China, Guangdong Provincial People's Government and Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) is the only nation-standard, international, comprehensive cultural fair of China. With “exhibition and exchange” as its cores, ICIF will make effort to establish an exchange platform for Chinese cultural products and projects, promote the development of China cultural industries, and spread Chinese cultural products to the world.
The first ICIF laid the foundation of China’s sole national-level international comprehensive cultural fair, where an integrated platform was built in culture, radio, film, TV, press and publishing for exhibiting cultural products, trading cultural industries factors and exchanging information in cultural industries.
Based on this, the second ICIF had seen a further increased level in internationalization, market orientation and specialization and, especially, in facilitating trade, so that the fair can become the largest export platform for China’s cultural products with the richest resources and the most complete varieties.
The 3rd ICIF will be held in Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from May 17 to 20, 2007. With “promote the development of Chinese cultural industries” and “promote the export of Chinese cultural products” as its cores, the 3rd ICIF will see a further increased level in internationalization, specialization, market orientation, standardization and high quality, deepen its feature and orientation, establish a brand of top exposition and export of Chinese cultural products.
As a collection of the Chinese cream, ICIF exhibits outstanding Chinese cultural products and achievements. It is the international buyer’s connection to sellers. By enabling buyers to locate, test and select, ICIF constitutes a platform for the quickest, most convenient and lowest-cost purchasing of excellent cultural products from China. It is the best place to connect with the cultural industries of China and other countries.
ICIF is a key to opening the Chinese cultural treasure. We invite international organizations and individuals interested in the development of China’s cultural industries to the China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair. We welcome venture capitalists, strategic investors in the cultural industries, cultural creative enterprises, the cultural manufacturing enterprises, the sellers of cultural products to join the exhibitions, exchanges, forums, awards and celebration activities of the 3rd ICIF. Total import and export value accounts for 1/7 of the China mainland, placing it first among China’s large and medium cities for the past 11years. The throughput of container shipments through the port of Shenzhen is second on China’s Mainland and fourth in world. The airport of Shenzhen is one of four major airports in China, and an important hub of airfreight for South China.
Shenzhen’s cultural industries and its related industries realized an added value of 30 billion yuan, accounting for 6.1 percent of the city’s GDP in 2005, rose 16.2% than year 2004.
